The Neighborhood defines itself as a creative communications agency that creates work for clients. This cuts out the middle man of the agency getting work for the company and allows the company to work directly with the client. I went on a visit to their studio to see what work they have done recently and learn a bit about how they work.

While at the neghbourhood they talked us through one of their recent projects with JD sport in which they made an advertising short video displaying the winter wear for JD sport mens wear women wear and children wear:
They told us they had various freelancers helping with this project as it was a larger project for them to be working on for example they had one freelancer just to rotoscope the footage to use to the composite the background. They also hired a freelance illustrator to professionally story board their ideas in order to display their plans to the client in an aesthetically pleasing way and to get the ideas across as clearly as possible. This shows how important it is to communicate vividly with the client and represent your ideas professionally in order to keep them understand your ideas and interested.
A green screen was used for the actors and then the winter scene was added in afterwards in a low poly style.
I think what was interesting when we were being told about the making of this advert is how many different freelancers were hired in to help with the project and it sounds like it would have been a coming together of a variety of different skills all at once. Such as lighting specialists for the shooting of the actors also with make up artists etc for the actors. And then the illustration freelancers animator and touch up artists etc.
